DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — To say it was an interesting, off-season 2021 season for Brandon Brown would be an understatement, but the winner of Talladega Superspeedway last year in the NASCAR Xfinity Series is focused on what’s ahead of him and stands in the garage after qualifying, he said, 2022 will be a great year.
“It’s great to buckle up and kind of focus and do what I love to do because that’s what it’s all about. You know, all the publicity and all that was going on, some people forget that it’s not just to be a celebrity and be known, it’s so I can run around and do what I love. I’m just excited to get back into it.
Brown said he doesn’t get distracted by past issues and wants everyone to realize that Brandonbilt Motorsports is still a family and family racing team. And he added that attending the season opener at Daytona International Speedway gives them the opportunity to show off the hard work they’ve put into improving their gear.
“We just focused on putting together fast race cars and making sure everything would go as soon as we dropped the tailgate,” Brown said. “It’s exciting to see that we’re fighting in the Top 10 to make the second qualifying round. You know, we just missed it, but it’s still a great feeling to be up front. I think that it will be a real testament to how we can race this year and show off our car, so we can fill that hood with more logos.
“We are still the family team. Nothing has changed, I’m still working here with the team day in and day out just to make sure everything is going well. They kicked me more into driving duties which is great, but at the same time I still like to try and help where I can. I’m so proud of this team and how we’ve grown.
One of the positives Brown wanted to mention was that Brandonbilt Motorsports now has its own dedicated team sales staff which should help them be able to reach more potential sponsors and hopefully celebrate Victory Lane again. It’s something he and his father are proud of and he has confirmed that there will be a new sponsor joining the team in a few weeks. Currently, the car is sponsored by cryptocurrency tracking and alerting company, Trade the Chain and also SENT Token.
“They will work very hard to bring partnerships to the car,” he said. “We’re thrilled to announce new sponsors from Atlanta, which I’m thrilled about. Obviously, I love building relationships inside and outside of the garage, so that’s going to be a good thing. It’s good to get out of this off-season and get into the rhythm of things.
